Well, you may have wanted to have a glimpse of who are considered the best hip hop artists for this year in Malawi and here we are.
MTV Base Africa has dropped the list of top ten best Mcees for the year 2016 in Malawi.
The channel has named Award winning gospel hip hop artist Suffix Malawi’s hottest Mcee for 2016. His Ndikanakhala Judge and Mkazi wa ku Mwamba have become trending songs lately.
He is followed by heavyweights Gwamba and Tay Grin on second and third respectively.
Charisma of the Kubanda fame is Malawi’s fourth hottest MC according to MTV Africa while Fredokiss is named on number five.
Blossoming talent, Tsar Leo – whose video, ‘The Other Side’ continues to hit charts in television stations across the continent is also part of the ten man list and he gets the number nine spot.
Youthful star Toast (6) completes the list alongside Classick (7), Genii Blak (8), Pop Dogg (10).

The ranking comes hot on the heels of the Urban Music Party (UMP) Awards.
Some of the artists on the list did not only get the nominations to the awards but also came out as winners in the miscellaneous categories they were nominated into.
Tay Grin got two awards from the flagship awards earlier this month: He was named artist of the year and had his video Chipapapa which he featured Nigeria’s 2Baba killing it as video of the year.
Suffix was also named as gospel artist of the year in the same awards.
Gwamba who had four nominations failed to grab any award home. Fredokiss who was racing the award for Best Hiphop Artist lost it to Martse who ironically has not gotten recognition by MTV Base Africa.
MTV Base Africa is a 24-hour music and general entertainment channel. It focusses primarily on hiphop, R’n’B, reggae and urban music from the continent.
