Police in the lakeshore district of Nkhotakota are looking for a man who wanted to sell his sister in the district.
Nkhotakota Police Station Public Relations Officer Sub Inspector Williams Kaponda has identified the man as Laurent Kanyimbo who offered his sister for sale.
According to Kaponda, Kanyimbo went to businessman Titani Kamutu’s shop and asked to meet the businessman privately.
“They entered the shop and the suspect told him that he is offering his sister at a price of K1 million so that Kamutu could use her for rituals,” said Kaponda.
This angered the businessman who tried to arrest Kanyimbo but the suspect managed to run away.
He later reported the matter to Police and the law enforcers are currently hunting for the suspect.
