Malawi Crime : Police net 10 during sweep

Police in Mangochi district on Tuesday arrested 10 suspects when they conducted a sweep to reduce crime in the district.

According to Mangochi Police Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Amina Tepani Daudi, one of the suspects, Fales Malala, 20, was found with medical drugs valued at K80,000.

crime (2)“Malala was found with 1117 capsules, 36 Amoxycline, 76 Chloraphenical, 119 Doxycline, 2000 tablets of Penicilin and 113 tablets of Aspirin,” said Daudi.

She further said that seven suspects were arrested for being found with counterfeit products while the other two suspects identified as Moya Feison 35, and Bita Matola 18, were arrested for stealing goats at Makawa Trading Centre in the district.

Police officers seized the medical drugs and the counterfeit products.

All suspects will appear in court soon to answer their respective charges.

The drug seller Malala hails from Michesi village while the goat thieves hail from Makawa village, Traditional Authority Mponda all in Mangochi district.
