A man in Dowa district has been arrested for raping two girls after lying to them that that they will become intelligent.
The rapist, 40 year-old Kafonsi Wisikosi Kanyamula, cheated the girls who are learners at a primary school in the district that they will have knowledge if he raped them.
Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Richard Kaponda said the two girls are aged 14 and are both in Standard seven at the primary school.
“He told them that first he had to have sex with them in order for the medicine to work effectively,” said Kaponda.
According to Kaponda, the rapist then sexually assaulted the girls and took some fake traditional medicine mixed with fluid which he applied to their private parts.
The sexual abuse made the victims to experience severe pain and they reported the issue to their headteacher who told the police.
The rapist is expected to appear before court soon.
Kanyamula hails from Dzama Village, Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa.
