Four Malawians have been awarded prestigious scholarships to pursue their studies in various universities in the United States of America.

The Malawians were awarded the Fulbright and Humphrey grants and their studies will be funded by the US government.

According to US embassy in Malawi, the four who works in different sectors in the country will study in four different Universities in US.

Two of the grantees are Sterner Msamalia who works as an environmental health officer and will pursue a Master’s in Public Health at Georgia State University and Patrick Jackson who is a manager with Techno Brain Group and will pursue a Master’s of Science in Information Assurance at St. Cloud State University.

The other two are Dr. Thandiwe Jere who is a senior medical officer at Kamuzu Central Hospital and will pursue her Master’s in Immunology and Infectious Diseases at University of Nerbraska and Sokalawo Msowoya, a teacher at Euthini secondary school in Mzimba who will pursue a program in Education Administration at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee.
