The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has with immediate effect suspended operations of smallholder tea factory located in Mulanje and Bakelines Limited located in Kanengo in Lilongwe due to continuous noncompliance to hygienic conditions.
The conditions are stipulated in Malawi Standard Number 21; Food and Food Processing Units – Code of Hygienic Conditions.
“The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has with immediate effect suspended operations of Smallholder Tea Factory located in Mulanje and Bakelines Limited located in Kanengo, Lilongwe due to continuous noncompliance to hygienic conditions as stipulated in Malawi Standard Number 21; Food And Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions,” the bureau said.
Meanwhile the suspension for Blantyre Metro Bakery and Take Away has been lifted.
According to the bureau, members of the general public therefore can patronize these places because the hygienic conditions have been tremendously improved as prescribed in Malawi Standard Number 21; Food And Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions.
