Huber: Solar energy could help Malawi.

Huber said Switzerland will help Malawi to find ways in which it can improve its agricultural and energy sectors.

“There are a number of areas that we have agreed to corroborate with the president but my primary focus will be how we could improve the Malawi agricultural and energy sectors by among others encouraging use of renewable and solar energy as well as new farming technologies,” Huber explained.

Switzerland and Malawi have had a mutual bilateral relationship for about 15 years now and Huber said she will also join hands with the Malawi government in eliminating HIV and AIDs as one way of strengthening the friendship.

The Ambassador also said she will try her best in marketing the country’s investment opportunities and further ensure that trade between countries is boosted up.

She said: “We have so many companies in Switzerland that are good in food processing and seed multiplication. What I can ask from the government is to create a conducive environment for the investors.”
