Burnt alive. The seven people lie dead in a police vehicle.

Seven people who were found with human bones in Nsanje today have been burned to death by an angry mob in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Tengani in the district, Malawi24 has learnt.

According to reports,  an angry mob pounced on the the seven people following a tip from other villagers.

Nsanje Police Officer-in-Charger, Kirby Kaunga, confirmed the reports to one local media.

The incident  happened around 3 pm this afternoon.

It is believed that seven people who were scorched were suspected of engaging in witchcraft.

Locals in Nsane told a Malawi24 reporter on Tuesday evening that people in the area believed that the woes they are facing including hunger are as a result of witchcraft hence the act to kill the seven people who they felt are magicians hit their minds.

So far, no one has been arrested.

Fresh reports Malawi24 has indicate that the law enforcers have since recovered the sad human bones.

Police are still investigating the matter.
