Defender Pilirani Zonda has been forced out the Malawi national football team camp after he sustained a thigh injury during training.

The Big Bullets player will with the injury miss out on the Flames games in a crucial group L African Cup of Nations encounter away to Guinea on 23 March and a second leg four days later.

According to the Flames team doctor, Levison Mwale, Zonda’s injury pushes him out of for two weeks and has since been released and will not take part in the teams matches.

He expressed worry to lose the right back who had been wishing to stela the limelight in the team.

Zonda will also miss out on his teams match against Zimbabwe’s Dynamos this weekend.

Recenelty, another defender Yamikani Fodya was said to have been out as well due to a malaria attack.

Malawi is third with a point, 3 points behind leaders Swaziland and a win against Guinea will see the side increasing the chances of making it to Gabon.

  1. Forced out means one agreed and accepted the offer but something bad happened that could not be resisted. He wanted to be part of the squad but because of injury he can’t do other wise but leave. It’s a good term though!
