Red Lions forward and Malawi Super League leading goal scorer, Innocent Bokosi, has said he will make sure that he scores a goal when his side will be taking on Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium on Thursday.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi24, Bokosi said he will make sure that he scores on Thursday so that he should win this season’s golden boot award.

The Red Lions forward added that the secret that has helped him to be scoring goals for fun in the league this season is that he works hard during training and he also asks the almighty Gold to help him in every game he plays.

The striker also wished good luck to all Super League golden boot award contenders and urged them to work hard so that the competition should be stiff.

Currently Bokosi is leading the race with 14 goals and is followed by Big Bullets striker Chiukepo Msowoya who has hit the back of the net on 13 occasions and Silver Strikers’ Green Harawa who has scored 12 times.

When asked about Thursday’s game against the Nomads, Bokosi said that as a team they are going to work hard so that they should give their fans a Christmas gift by beating Wanderers.

“Football is a game of winning or losing but as a team we are going to work hard so that we should make our supporters happy during this Christmas season,” he said.
