The Malawi commercial city based side had already paid a K250,000 deposit to hire a double-Decker bus from AXA for a victory parade before Sunday’s cup final defeat to Civo Service United.

However, Nelson Kangunje spoiled the plans as he scored in the dying minutes of the match, forcing Mighty Wanderers officials to cancel the parade bus booking.

It is reported that the Nomads executive also made a similar arrangement before beating Big Bullets in the Carlsberg Cup but this time around, the plan backfired.

According to the team’s chairman George Chamangwana, it was normal to book the bus before facing Civo.

“It was normal for us to book the bus before playing the game. Any team is free to make such arrangements and we never wanted to be caught off-guard hence making an early booking. We will get back our monies from them since we lost the match as stipulated in the agreement” he said.

On their part, AXA Bus services confirmed that indeed the Nomads booked the bus before playing Civo but since they lost the match, they will get back their fee with a deduction which is called disturbance fee.

The Nomads were outsmarted in the dying minutes of the match when Kangunje made a cool finish from a Wyson Nkhana’s free kick, ending their double mission in the 2015 soccer season.
