Unima no PhD cousres.

The University of Malawi (UNIMA) has expressed dissatisfaction with the shortage of PhD courses which has contributed to the university’s poor international ranking in the past 50 years of its existence.

UNIMA’s Vice Chancellor Professor John Saka said this in Zomba on Sunday during a prayer ceremony which was organised as part of the university’s Golden Jubilee cerebration.

The Vice Chancellor said lack of PhD courses has made most people to end up at a low rank in because they did not continue with their education up to the PhD level.

He further said when a university actively participate in international research to demonstrate its integrity, professionalism, responsiveness and hardworking spirit, it portrays that people studying at that university have skills.

The University of Malawi was established by the first president of Malawi Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda in 1965.
