Police have arrested a Ndirande man for likening First Lady Getrude Mutharika to Rango, the cartoon.
The man Tumpale Mwakibinga posted a picture on social media showing the First Lady and the cartoon.
According to reports, Mwakibinga was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with insulting the modesty of a woman. He has since been denied him bail.
Blantyre police spokesperson refused to comment on the matter when contacted.
Meanwhile, Malawians have condemned the arrest saying the Democratic Progressive Party administration is acting like a dictatorship.
