Flames coach Ronny Van Geneugden has named his final squad for next week’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Comoros Island.
It’s a must win game for RVG’s men if they are to keep their slim hopes of making it to Cameroon alive.
With Gabadinho Mhango and John Banda suspended, the Belgian tactician has included Moyale Barracks forward Gastin Simkonda and inactive Felix Zulu in his 20-man squad.
Surprisingly, Silver Strikers’ forward Khuda Muyaba and Blue Eagles winger Micium Mhone have all been dropped by Van Geneugden despite their current brilliant form for their respective clubs.
Meanwhile, Flames captain Limbikani Mzava is also not on the list after he excused himself from Malawi’s two games against Cameroon last month.
It was reported that the former Escom United forward was injured but he has been featuring for his South African side, Golden Arrows in the Premier Soccer League.
Also missing out on the list is Gerald Phiri Jnr and Rafique Namwera who are both injured while Robert Ng’ambi excused himself earlier last week.
