Karonga United will look to strengthen their survival chances as they meet defending Tnm Super League defending champions Be Forward Wanderers today at Karonga stadium.
Karonga have 31 points from 27 games so far played and are on position 11.
Their opponents Wanderers are on third with 46 points from 23 games. The Nomads are 6 points behind second placed Silver Strikers with 52 points from 27 games.
Speaking on Friday, Karonga United team manager Kondwani Mwalweni said his side knows the importance of winning this game as they are facing the chop.
“We played them in the first round at their backyard and we drew. This is our time to give them a lesson. We know the importance of winning this game because of where we are now and losing this will cost us a lot as we are fighting to keep moving up,” said Mwalweni.
Team manager for Wanderers Steve Madeira said in a separate interview that they are going as defending champions and they have nothing to fear.
“We were there not so long ago and we beat them in Carlsberg Cup. This time around we are going to use the same weapon we used last time, the team will return to Blantyre with maximum points,” he said.
