Federation Disability Organisation in Malawi (FEDOMA) has called for the inclusion of persons with disability in the 2019 elections.
Speaking with the media, FEDOMA member Sigele Kasasi said people with disability should be elected into positions since they also have abilities as anyone has in this country.
“Put the person with disability at the centre stage so that they can be recognised that they are existing instead of leaving them behind without giving them a chance,” she said.
Kasasi who will contest in the 2019 elections urged journalists in the country to be at forefront in promoting persons with disability in order to change the mindset of people in country.
Kasasi also advised government to encourage the construction of disability friendly buildings such as offices and school blocks.
