Moyale Barracks on Wednesday baptised Dwangwa United 4-0 to reach quarterfinals of the Carlsberg Cup.
The Soldiers showed they meant business when they scored in the early minutes of the game through Khuda Muyaba.
Lesman Singini added another goal 17 minutes into the game to double Moyale’s lead.
Just before halftime, Muyaba scored a diving header to double his tally and make it 3-0 for Moyale.
First half ended with Moyale leading by three goals to nil.
In the second half, Dwangwa started playing well but they still couldn’t stop Moyale from scoring more as Wister Phiri who came on as a substitute scored the Soldiers’ fourth goal.
The game ended 4-0, taking the Soldiers into the quarterfinals of the cup.
In an interview, Charles Kamanga coach for the Soldiers said he was happy to beat Dwangwa.
“Am happy we are through. My boys gave us a good game and now we are looking to face any team that comes our way,” said Kamanga.
On his part, Vice Coach for Dwangwa Abdu Silver blamed the team’s players for the defeat saying they did not play as planned.
