It is without doubt that with five games to wind up their 2016 Tnm Super League season, Civo United have a real battle to fight for in their hands if they are to make it to the 2017 Tnm Super League season.
The civil servants are relatively a strong side although they have struggled for the past of 2 years in the league but their hopes of survival this season are hanging by a thread.
Currently, Charles Manda’s side Civo United are second from bottom with 21 points from 24 games and they are 5 points below the drop zone but Manda has said he is optimistic that his side will survive the chop this season.
Manda was speaking this after his side were beaten 1 nil at Nankhaka stadium in Lilongwe and he added that they will keep on working on their finishing so that they should survive.
“When we return to our training ground we will start working on our finishing so that we should boost our chances of survival and we will be taking each game as it comes,” Manda said.
He added that he is very hopeful that his side will survive the chop because football is a game which cannot be foretold.
“With five games to go before we wind up our season am optimistic that my side will remain in the league. We will not give up we will continue working hard and fighting because anything can happen in football,” he said.
Civo United’s next opponent in the league is Kamuzu Barracks and if they are to survive the chop they have to start winning from the Kamuzu Barracks match and all their remaining four matches after that game.
But a million dollar question is, will it be possible for Civo to survive the chop this season with five games to wind up their season?
