Silver Strikers vs Nyasa Big Bullets

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has fined Nyasa Big Bullets after one of its fans invaded the pitch and tampered with water bottles belonging to Silver Strikers while the teams were in action  at Kamuzu Stadium in the Fisd Challenge Cup on 26th October 2016, Malawi24 can confirm.

The incident happened when the players were busy in the field of play.

The FA in a statement which Malawi24 has seen as signed by General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda says the conduct by the fan identified as Yusuf Julius was unsporting and showed the Blantyre based side failed to control its own supporters.

Julius has since been banned from attending all official football matches organized by FAM and all its affiliates for four years.

Bullets will have to pay a fine of K500, 000.00. before their next footballing assignment.

Bullets in match fixing allegations

”The Committee considered a response to the charges from NMC Big Bullets as well as  reports submitted by the Match Coordinator, The Police, The Stewards, The Referee and the Match Commissioner
From the reports it clearly emerged that a NMC Big Bullets Supporter Yusuf Julius  invaded the pitch during the second half of the stated match and tampered with water  bottles for Silver Strikers goalkeeper which were kept around the Silver Strikers goal area” the statement reads in part.

Bullets have since been given 48 hours to appeal if they have such a consideration, with a prescribed appeal fee in the sum of K450, 000.00 in line with Articles 15.2 of the  Competition’s Rules and Regulations.

In the match, Silver sent Bullets packing after inflicting them to a 1-0 defeat with Blessing  Tembo wining for the bankers through a thunderous header in the second half.
