…Karonga United set to collect three points without kicking the ball
Karonga United are set to collect three points on Saturday over MTV Maxi Bullets to dislodge Civo Service United on position 14 with 24 points from 26 games.
With Dwangwa United securing all three points over Mzuni FC on Sunday, the battle for the survival will go down to the wire but one of the biggest teams in Malawi might say goodbye to the top flight for the first time in years if the situation remain unchanged.
Now, with Karonga United collecting free points on the table without kicking the ball, the Civil Servants’ hopes of surviving the chop are hanging by the thread and any mistake in their remaining six games will see them join Chipiku Central Region Football League.
Out of the four struggling teams, only Dwangwa and Karonga United have benefitted from Max Bullets’ withdraw from the top flight last month.
One of the toughest fixtures for the Lilongwe based side is a clash against Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium, a side yet to taste a league defeat at hope for the past three seasons.
