The United Democratic Front (DPP) has expressed shock over the death of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) secretary general Eckleni Kudontoni.
Kudontoni died on Thursday in a car accident near Bua river on his way to Kasungu to attend the funeral of a relative.
UDF spokesperson Ken Ndanga said the death of Kudontoni has shocked the party as he was a politician who also served in the UDF.
”We are shocked due to the death of Kudontoni as we know that he was a good politician who also served in UDF,” said Ndanga.
He added that they appreciate the role Kudontoni played in strengthening UDF during his time with the party and they are mourning with DPP as well as the family of Kudontoni.
Kudontoni who was born in 1973 will be buried today at his home village in Salima.
President Peter Mutharika is expected to attend a religious service that will be conducted before the burial.
