Chanco innovators to get awards

Innovation being the attribute that Malawian students are encouraged to have, a local organization is set to award innovative students in the public universities of the country.

The organization, Youth Innovation Empowerment (YIE) has disclosed that it is to award students from Chancellor College (Chanco) in its first edition of the awards.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi24, the organization’s founder Godfrey Pumbwa said the awards are to take place next month at Chanco campus in Zomba district.

“They are the first of their kind. They have been organized to appreciate different academic innovations that are happening at Chanco. We will award different innovations.

“These awards have also been organized to motivate innovations and creativity in academic fields of UNIMA, to expose and empower students’ creativity, to instill the mind of wisdom,” said Pumbwa.

He added that the awards are to follow under different innovations from faculties of law, social science, and humanities at the college.

He further disclosed that the corporate world is yet to come in to support the awards which are slated for November 5 this year.
