Malawian actor Jacobs Mwase better known as Zakaria has died, Malawi24 has learnt.
Reports indicate that he died in the morning of today after a long illness.
He died at Thyolo district hospital.
He was fondly known by the ‘Yao’ accent which he used in most of the plays and shows he took part in.
He mostly played the role of an old man who could cause havoc in the community by among other things threatening others with magic.
Malawi24 understands that earlier this year he was working on Palibe Chinsisi, a new movie series that is likely to give the other side of the artist as it dwells on where real life meets spirituality.
His death comes just months after the death of another renowned actor John Nyanga better known as Izeki.
