Devotion: Be spiritually minded

Romans 8 : 5-6 ” For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

As a child of God, as you take care of your physical condition and environment , you must  care more about your spiritual condition and environment. Be mindful of your spiritual status and continually look yourself unto the mirror of the Word of God to check if you still look spiritually sound.

The Word of God is your spiritual mirror(2 Cor 4:18,James 1:23). Constantly look unto the Word to check on your spiritual standing just like people look continuously unto the physical mirror to check on their physical appearance.

Set your mind on things above.Colossians 3 : 1-2 ” If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” A prudent employee knows that they will not work forever. Therefore they prepare in advance their retirement home where they can live the rest of the life. In the same way we are not in the physical body forever, one day we will retire from the physical body and we therefore mind about the spirit because that is where we will be forever.

Be prudent and be spiritually minded.

Confession

I am spiritually minded and will continually look unto the Word of God for my spiritual standing as I prepare for the day I will meet my Master who has prepared me an eternal home in heaven. In Jesus Name. Amen
