Prophet fathers child with church member’s wife

A popular prophet in Blantyre has broken the home of one of his church members after having a child with the wife of the congregant.

According to reports, the prophet, David Mbewe, who prophesies at Living Word Evangelist Church had been sleeping with Belinda Chipala, who was then a wife to one of the church’s members.

The woman got pregnant and now has a child whom she has named David. Belinda and her husband are reportedly separated and the woman is now using her maiden name Likukuta.

A source said the church has been cautious in its handling of the matter but revealed that “Chipala’s marriage has crumbled down.”

The prophet has not commented on the issue but he has been supporting the child and her mother.

Recently, he financed a baby shower for the baby which was held in Namiwawa. That was after he had paid for a private room at Mwaiwathu Hospital where Chipala delivered the baby boy.

Prophet Mbewe’s congregation meet at Robins Park in Blantyre on Wednesday nights and a huge number of people attend the services.
