Mzuni are now second in the league.

Today’s match started on a higher note as both sides were in search of the opening goal.

Frastone Chisi had a chance to put Mzuni ahead in the opening minutes when they were awarded a penalty but he missed the spot kick.

On the other end, Moyale Barracks were also awarded a penalty and their goalkeeper Juma Chikwenga stepped up for the challenge on the 30th minute of the first half but his penalty was well saved by Labbie Chiyenda, the Mzuni goal minder.

The first 45 minutes of the match ended 0-0.

After the break, both sides came in with fresh ideas as they were in search for goals but it was Mzuni fc who started dominating possession first and they could have taken the lead in the opening minutes of the second half but Mushani missed from close range with the Moyale Barracks goalkeeper Chikwenga already beaten.

The turning point of the match came in when Mzuni coach brought in Russell Mwafulirwa and Zeliat Nkhoma to replace William Mwalwimba and Hudson Milanzi respectively.

After the one hour mark Mzuni exchanged some good passes and set in Mushani who connected the ball with a beautiful bicycle kick beat Chikwenga in goals for Moyale Barracks.

The soldiers then started showing some excellence as they were in search for an equalising goal of the match.

But the Mzuni defence marshalled by Suzgo Mwakasinga, Brave Phiri, Bob Longwe, and Victor Gondwe defended well until the final whistle of the match.

The result has seen the students moving up to position two on the log table, below Blue Eagles who are topping the table with 12 points as they have registered four wins in four games.
