Nyasa Big Bullets have suffered two straight defeats in the central region after being hammered 2-0 by Mafco FC yesterday and today they have lost to Silver strikers 1 nil at Silver Stadium.

Mathews Sibale scored the only goal of the match in the dying minutes of the second half to help Silver Strikers beat Nyasa Big Bullets in Lilongwe.

Both Bullets and Silver Strikers started the match on a high note as they were all in search of an early goal in the opening minutes of the game but both sides defended well. However, Silver Strikers could have found the back of the net in the first half as they threatened the Big Bullets goal on several ocassions but the 2015 Super League champions goal minder Ernest Kakhobwe kept on denying the central bankers from scoring and the first half ended 0-0.

Come second half, Silver started the half on a high intensity no wonder they scored when the one hour mark was approaching but the referee ruled the goal out for offside.

After that incident, Bullets started pressurising the Central Bankers but they lacked the scoring composure as they were missing the services of last season’s top goalscorer Chiukepo Msowoya who is with the Malawi national team. It looked like the game would end in a draw but Mathews Sibale broke the hearts of Big Bullets fans when he scored a beauty to make it 1 nil in favour of Silver Strikers.

After that goal Bullets dominated possession as they were looking for an equalising goal but Silver Strikers defenders defended jealously as they did not allow the Bullets striking force to demolish them and the game ended 1-0 in favour of Silver Strikers.

In another friendly match, Mighy Be Forward Wanderers were held to a goalless draw with Zomba United at Zomba Community ground on Sunday afternoon.
