The former ruling People’s Party (PP) has denied reports that two of the four youths who are in police custody for being involved in the Mzuzu fracas are PP members.

In an interview with this publication, PP’s spokesperson, Ken Msonda said none of the four youths nabbed are their party members.

Msonda: Says the arrested are not PP members.

He said the two who are being mentioned were fired from the party alongside Christopher Mzomera Ngwira on similar offenses.

“The two being mentioned were fired on similar barbaric and thuggery offenses. “Our youth are civilized and disciplined, they cannot be involved in such undemocratic line of thinking,” Msonda said.

The spokesperson further said it is an undeniable fact that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is a party specialized in beating and killing of innocent people considering that Ngwira and these other two who got fired at PP and are accused of causing the fracas were once DPP members.

He said this means that they learned such violence acts at DPP and PP could not tolerate such behaviour hence their firing from the party.
