A man in Ntchisi has committed suicide by hanging himself in a tree, a thing which has left locals there thinking of what might be the reasons the 52 year old took his life in such a manner.
Police have identified the man as George Mangulu from Chananga Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kalumo in the district.
The incident happened on Friday March 4 2016 at Chananga Village.
Police investigations revealed that in the evening of March 3 2016, the deceased went to the house of his brother Andrew Kanyembe to ask for burley tobacco to smoke which he was given.
Later the deceased left and went to Mzizi Village where he got married and since the deceased left there was no communication until on Friday March 4 2016 at about 2pm when the deceased was discovered hanging in a tree.
The matter was reported to police who visited the scene in the company of medical personnel.
The body was viewed and confirmed the death was caused due to suffocation secondary to strangulation and no foul play was suspected.
