The Black Leopards defender has joined the Malawi national football team squad ahead of their crucial group L African Cup of Nations encounter away to Guinea on 23 March.

The Flames will host the National Elephants four days later.

He has become the latest professional player to join the rest of the players in camp, according to team manager Clement Kafwafwa.

Harry Nyirenda is now in Flames camp.

Kafwafwa said that the coming in of the full back has seen the upsurge of the morale in the camp saying that he is one of the veteran players the youthful players look up to.

” He (Nyirenda) has joined the other boys in camp. We are expecting John Banda and Schumaker Kuwali shortly because they are in Mozambique trying to seal deals with Maputo based clubs” said Kafwafwa.

He remained optimistic that the other professional players will be joining the side over the weekend or early next week.

Malawi is third with a point, 3 points behind leaders Swaziland and a win against Guinea will see the side increasing the chances of making it to Gabon.
