The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Governor for the South Charles Mchacha has warned parastatals in the country to stop sabotaging the president’s programs.

Mchacha was speaking on Saturday during the elevation ceremony of Traditional Authority Ngolongoliwa to Senior Chief at Thyolo community Centre Ground in the same district, an event that was graced by the state president Professor Peter Mutharika.

Taking his turn to speak, Mchacha said some parastatals do not wish the president well.

“The parastatals want to be smart, but soon we will to mention out those who are sabotaging your (president) policies,” Mchacha said.

He further said the president has a right to appoint DPP aficionados as board members of statutory corporations because the party members are the ones who formed the current government and they should benefit.

The regional governor then claimed that the country has enough maize to reach the harvesting period but accused vendors of conniving with Agriculture Development Marketing Cooperation (Admarc) to steal maize. He argued that Mutharika cannot be going to every Admarc depot to stop vendors from buying maize.
