The Southern Region Water Board says residents should expect more water challenges if the rainfall continues to be erratic in the country.
Southern Region Water Board acting chief executive Officer Edward Mbesa made the remarks and said climate change is a major problem fuelling water shortage in the region.
According to Mbesa, the poor rainfall pattern has resulted in low water levels in the region’s water reservoirs.
Mbesa said Mulunguzi Dam is one of the region’s water reservoirs which have been affected by lack of rains.
He however explained that the issue of climate change is not only affecting the southern region but also other regions in the country.
