Ex ruling Peoples Party (PP) led by Uladi Mussa has now blamed Malawians for voting for an ‘incompetent’ President in the name of Peter Mutharika during a poll the party lost last year.

In response to the National Address that Mutharika gave in Parliament last week, Mussa branded the speech ‘useless’ while claiming that Mutharika is clueless on how to manage the country.

Mussa says the address was not only empty but also only showed how the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government is vision less.

Amid hand claps in the national assembly, Mussa also said that it was unfortunate that people voted into power such an incompetent leader.

“Today Malawians are living in frustration within a whirl wind of this air like and yet like the address by the president, fails to offer solutions. To this end, PP bemoans the fact that the statement was full of lamentation with no proposal of how the country will come out of this mess.”

He wondered why the Malawi leader admitted the deteriorating of the economy yet did not cite ways his government intends to deal with the situation.

He said “DPP is stuck in the mud of confusion and not knowing what to do next, that’s the kind of people we have entrusted the country with”

In his address, Mutharika said he understands the tough economic situation the country is going through and the need for solutions.

Mutharika said this when he was presiding over the opening of the 46th Session of Parliament in Lilongwe.

In his speech, themed “Building Resilience for Sustainable Development”, Mutharika described Malawi’s economic status as being at a critical stage.

Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has also drilled the Malawi leader on a number of important missed areas in the address.
