Business people in Malawi’s northern city Mzuzu have blamed city fire brigade as an inferno last night razed down Mzuzu Zigwagwa market for the third time this year.
According to an eye witness, the city council fire brigade came four times with insufficient water.
“The fire brigade came at first with few water, they just began to put out the fire when they ran out of water and they went to draw water. This happened until they came for the fourth time and this time they found the fire had burnt everything down”, said Owen Banda
However, the Mzuzu city fire brigade did not comment on the matter.
Timber, wood poles and chairs worth millions have been burnt to ashes on the incident.
The cause of the fire is not known yet.
