Malawi Police are still hunting  for unknown criminals who broke into the administration office at Lirangwe CDSS in Blantyre and went away with money amounting to k83,500 and items such as HP Laptops, one ball and two torches all valued k392,470.

Police (4)According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Sourthen Region Police, Widson Nhlani, the Headteacher at the school, Stanley Maseko, told the Police that the criminals tied two school guards before they broke into the administration block.

Nhlani said investigations are under way to arrest the culprits. Police is advising the management of various schools to avoid keeping cash in their offices, and that they should all open bank accounts as a way of ensuring that school money is safe.

Cases of robbery have been on the increase in Malawi, and Police request the general public to offer a helping hand in curbing crimes.

  1. Police should be very strong now! The system of paying school fees in CDSS and primary schools should be well monitored, otherwise expected more deaths
