The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced the appointment of a new commercial director.
FAM through its general secretary Sugzo Nyirenda confirmed the signing of Limbani Matola as the current commercial handler for the organisation.
Nyirenda said: “Matola has put pen to paper for a two year contract with effect from the first day of December this year. However, the contract is renewable depending on perfomance of his day in and out duties.”
The Chiwembe based FA is expecting that Matola will spearhead a marketing drive as a way of increasing its finances. Matola has replaced Dan Tambala who was sacked for being implicated in dubious sales of tickets for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
Tambala and Matola once worked together in the financial department at Malawi Broadcasting Corperation when the fired man was the boss of the newly appointed commercial director.
