Police in Dowa are trying to piece together what happened to a 31-year-old FDH Bank employee found dead in her vehicle.
The deceased, Tathokoza Salimu, worked at the bank’s Dzaleka Refugee Camp branch.
Dowa Police Station spokesperson Alice Sitima said Salimu was found dead last evening inside her vehicle at Chinkhota Village near Tatolonga Bridge along the Dzaleka–Dowa Boma road.
According to Sitima, road users alerted police after noticing a vehicle parked along the road with its engine still running. They reported seeing a woman inside the vehicle lying in a pool of blood.
Police officers who rushed to the scene found a black Subaru Impreza with Salimu seated on the passenger seat. She had a wound on her neck and was lying in a pool of blood.
Sitima said police searched the vehicle and recovered several items, including a driver’s licence, smartphone, FDH Bank teller identification card and other documents bearing Salimu’s name.
Police have since launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
