Malawi’s representative at the Miss World 2026 competition, Ireen Navicha, has bowed out of the global pageant after failing to advance from the Top 40 to the Top 20.
Navicha’s elimination ends her campaign at the competition currently underway in Vietnam, but she has nonetheless made history by becoming the first Malawian contestant to reach the Top 40 at Miss World.
She secured her place in the Top 40 through the judges’ choice, following her performance in the competition’s various challenges.
Navicha had also been among Malawi’s hopes for a deeper run after reaching the Top 6 in the Africa continental group of the Beauty With A Purpose challenge.
However, she did not make the cut for the Top 20 during the latest stage of the competition.
Despite her exit, Navicha’s Top 40 finish represents Malawi’s best ever performance at the Miss World pageant, marking a significant milestone for the country on the international beauty pageant stage.
