Police at Ndirande in Blantyre have arrested three people aged 16, 32 and 18 for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
The three are Richard Magwetsa,32, Maxwell John, 16, both from Mulonda Village and Alex Weja,18, from Mwanya Village all under Traditional Authority Nsabwe in Thyolo District.
On November 30 this year, Patrick Mpochera reported to police that unknown criminals had stolen his Lifan motorbike valued at K850,000 which was parked outside his house around 19:00 hours within Ndirande Township.
Sub Inspector Widson Nhlane, Public Relations Officer, Ndirande Police Station, Responding to the complainant, police launched a man hunt and learnt that the suspects had fled to Nanjiri Village in Mulanje.
On the night of December 2, 2022, the officers raided the place and arrest the trio who were offering the motorcycle for sale to a Mozambican customer.
The suspects will appear in court soon to answer charges of theft of Motorcycle.
