United Democratic Front supporters in Lilongwe caused a standoff when they barred their leader, Atupele Muluzi, from entering Anti Corruption Bureau premises where he is due for questioning.
The ACB invited Muluzi, former minister of Lands, for questioning over his role in land deals associated with corruption suspect Zuneth Sattar.
Muluzi posted on his Facebook page that he would attend the questioning. However, at 2 o’clock this afternoon, his supporters had already gathered outside ACB premises where they stopped him from attending to the invite.
Muluzi addressed the people before eventually being allowed access into the ACB offices.
