Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve has completed the slots of promoted sides into the TNM Super League following their triumph in the Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) premier division league.
Bullets won the championship of the United Purpose sponsored second tier league on goal aggregate after levelling points with Ntopwa Super Boys as each has ended the season with 96 points.
The two settled for a point each after playing to a goalless draw in a title decider match played on Sunday afternoon at Kamuzu Stadium in Malawi’s commercial city of Blantyre.
Ntopwa who are being managed by coach Leo Mpulula missed a number of scoring opportunities in both halves which would have resulted into goals if they had been utilised.
The question now is whether Bullets reserve will join the top-tier in the next season or the club will sell the reserve side that is if their sponsors Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC) decide that they cannot sponsor two sides at once in the top flight league.
NMC currently are sponsors of Super League champions, Nyasa Big Bullets.
However, some weeks ago officials from the company said that they are tempted to allow the reserve side join the top-tier.
If the Chitetezo Mbaula SRFA champions fail to join the first division then Ntopwa will take over their place and the champions shall remain in the premier division.
Chitipa United of the northern region and Mlatho Mponela of the central region already got their top-tier tickets after becoming champions in their respective leagues and they will now be preparing for the heat for the forthcoming Super League season likely to commence early April this year.
