Local Welterweight champion Limbani “The lion” Masamba this Sunday faces a stern test in his quest to hold onto the belt, when he meets Chikondi “Bolt culter” Makawa.
The bout has been sanctioned by Superior Boxing Promotions in conjunction with No pain No gain Boxing Promotions.
Venue is Lilongwe’s boxing haven M1 Centre Point.
Speaking in an interview with Malawi24, Superior Promotion’s director Japheth Majekete promised an explosive fight for all boxing fans.
“It’s going to be a cracker, something fans have not witnessed this year. Both boxers are well geared for the fight, Masamba has vowed to by all means retain the belt while Makawa says come rain or sunshine, he will be taking the belt to Liwonde.”
Majekete however refused to disclose how much the winner and loser will cart home saying it would be a breach of the confidentiality clause inserted in the contract.
In supporting bouts, Tinkhani Kamanga will face Moses Hardwell while Limbani Powder will fight Byson Gwayani.
There will also be a ladies, showdown between Anisha Bashir and Enelesi Nkhwanthi.
