Decomposed body found near Limbe market

A decomposed body of a yet to be identified man was found on Monday behind Limbe market in Blantyre, Police say.

According to Assistant public relations officer Widson Nhlane, the body was discovered by one of the businessmen at the market.

“What happened is that one of the businessmen in Limbe market saw flies at the area where the body was so he went to the place only to find the body in a decomposed state,” said Nhlane.

crime (2)He added that the matter was reported to police who visited the scene and took the body to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital for postmortem.

Meanwhile, police are informing the general public whose relatives are missing to go to the hospital for identification.

In another development, police in Limbe are also informing the general public that they have recovered various items such as mattresses, plasma TVs, curtains, video cameras, assorted clothes, cellphones plus home theaters hence people whose items were stolen should go to the police station for identification.

So far they have arrested Justine Kaliwo aged 32, from Kambalame village T/A Likoswe in Chiradzulu district and he is still in custody whilst investigations are underway.
