Four people have died while 11 sustained injuries after their minibus rolled over at Chisombezi Bridge along Mugabe Highway in Chiradzulu.
Assistant public relations officer for Limbe police station Widson Nhlane said the driver of the vehicle was one of the injured 11. He added that only one person among the people who died has been identified.
According to the police spokesperson, the Nissan Caravan registration number MJ7793 was coming from Mulanje going to Limbe with 15 passengers on board.
The vehicle overturned and rolled over after the driver lost control at Chisombezi Bridge.
“What happened is that the vehicle was coming from Mulanje going to Limbe and it overturned at Chisombezi Bridge after the driver lost control,” said Nhlane.
He added that four people died on the spot whilst 11 sustained serious injuries and were referred to various hospitals such as Mulanje Hospital in Nguludi and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital for treatment.
