Diabetes Association of Malawi (DAM) President Timothy Ntambalika has died, family members have confirmed to Malawi24.
Ntambalika passed on in the wee hours of Friday at his residence in Bangwe after a heightened battle against diabetes.
Family relation, Emmanuel Mulere confirmed the sad news to Malawi24 this morning.
”There will be the funeral service at his place in Bangwe before the body is taken to his home village in Thyolo for burial tomorrow” said Mulere.
Ntambalika will be always be remembered for championing the good welfare of people living with diabetes in Malawi.
Last month, he led a symposium at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre where several companies made donations towards helping people living with diabetes in Malawi.
He was President of DAM-an organization that strives to educate, conduct public awareness campaigns and sensitize the general public of Malawi about dangers of Diabetes and how it affects people.
As of 2016, the organization which was founded in 2007 had up to 100 members.
