A stunning display from Chiukepo Msowoya helped Nyasa Big Bullets to destroy struggling MTV Maxi Bullets 5-1 at Kamuzu Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Coming straight from their victory over Moyale Barracks to win the Presidential Cup, Bullets meant business as they got their opener in the first minute through Mussa Manyenje.

Eleven minutes later, it was 2-nil. Msowoya made the most of slack Max Bullets defending to slot past the rookies’ shot-stopper into the back of the net, 2-0.

The rookies were under siege as Dalitso Sailesi, Kondwani Kumwenda and Manyenje tormented their defence like nobody’s business.

Winless in their 12 previous league games, Trevor Kajawa’s men were waiting for another massacre as the newly Presidential Champions showed no mercy.

Bullets almost added more goals but lacked finishing composure towards the end of the half. Bullets defender suffered a serious injury just before the interval and was replaced by George Nyirenda.

Come second half, it only took less than 11 minutes for Bullets to add their third goal through Msowoya again who capitalized on a defensive relapse from the visitors.

The pressure from the hosts continued as Max Bullets’ poor clearance fell to Sailesi, who passed to Fischer Kondowe who made no mistake to score the fourth goal.

Maxi Bullets’ midfield of Jacob Ngwira, Robson Banda and Samson Chonde could not match Bullets’s pace as Kumwenda made things possible for the defending league champions.

However, the rookies had a consolation goal from Tony Bias following communication breakdown between Nyirenda and Sankhani Mkandawire, 4-1.

Sailesi continued to cause Maxi Bullets problems, turning Wachimwa Sadick inside out before being upended inside the area but his shot missed the goal mouth with an inch.

With some few minutes to play, MacPhallen Mgwira nailed it for Bullets as he scored the fifth goal after being set through by Kondowe and after 90 minutes of play, it ended 5-1.

The result sees Bullets climbing up to 9th with 19 points from 11 games. As for the rookies, they are still anchoring the table with four points from 13 games.
