Blue Eagles stick to their guns

Yes, five wins from all five games this campaign and Blue Eagles F.C are on fire. Another 3-0 win over Red Lions yesterday now places the Lilongwe side on top with 15 points, six ahead of second placed Mzuni F.C.

Goals from Maxwell Salambula, Gilbert Chirwa and Enoch raised up the Eagles start yet again this season.

They have recorded wins over Maxi Bullets, Dwangwa United, Azam Tigers and EPAC before they mauled Red Lions at home on Sunday.

Recently in response to questions that his side always start the season on a higher note like this and that they lack the same spirit as the season goes on, mentor Gabriel Chirwa said that his charges aim at sustaining the performance.

“We can say that we want to finish top [ at the end of the first round], but as Blue Eagles we are aware that all teams are prepared this season and what we have to do is to work hard and focus until the end,” said Chirwa.

They will play Moyale Barracks on Sunday in their next fixture.

In the other games on Sunday, Nyasa Big Bullets drew 2 all against MAFCO at Chitowe ground while Wizards got beaten 0-2 against Kamuzu Barracks with Azam Tigers and Civo settling for a barren draw and Moyale Barracks overcame Maxi Bullets 3-2 in Mzuzu.
