Eston Komesi Chisale, a 36 year-old man in Lilongwe has been arrested for forcing himself on his daughter and impregnating her.
Lilongwe Police Station Public Relations Officer Inspector Kingsley Dandaula said the suspect started sexually abusing his 17 year-old daughter between December 2015 and February 2016 at Area 36 in Lilongwe.
This was after he had deceived her that they would become rich if he raped her.
The young girl later got pregnant and when her mother interrogated her, she revealed that she had been sexually abused by her father who promised her riches.
Her mother, Ida M’dala Chisale who has been married to the suspect for 18 years reported the matter to police and the girl was referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital for medical examinations.
Meanwhile, the suspect is in police custody and is expected to appear in court to answer charges of incest contrary to section 157 of the penal code.
Chisale hails from Chin’gombe village in the area of Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre.
