Speaking to the media, the 33 year old said he is still fresh and he will help the students to achieve their goal in the Malawi top flight league.

“I am still fresh and ready to assist the team achieve. I am sure that people will see a good Mzuni team this season with my presence,” he said.

Mwafulirwa once played for Silver Strikers before joining South African Premier Soccer League side Jomo Cosmos in 2002.

In 2006 Cosmos sold him to Ajax Cape Town where he played for two years before joining Swedish team IFK Norrkopina in 2008.

Mzuni will boost its striking force with the coming in of Mwafulirwa and the club will hope his presence will help them break into the top ten.

Last season the club finished on position 12 with 29 points, the same as relegated Dedza Young Soccer but the students survived the chop due to a superior goal difference.
