Two inmates at Mzuzu prison were quick to capitalize on what looks like a ‘silly’ mistake by warders by staying at a distance in a farm the prisoners were doing the hard labor to run away.

It is said that on a Tuesday morning, the warders took along with them a number of prisoners to a close farm  where they then moved to some far place to chat while watching the inmates at a distance.

PrisonMalawi24 has been highly informed that it was at this time that the two boiled up the plans to take the their heels having noticed that the warders seemed they had no concern for them but the stories they shared.

The two whom officials have since identified as Kondwani Nyirenda who is from Mzimba district and Blessings Nsanama from the eastern region district of Balaka then had to use their adrenalines to run away.

Having noticed that two inmates were running away, the warders followed them but to avail because they had already taken a far distance.

According to Northern region prison publicist Austin Mwasangwale, the prison officials have since engaged police officers in the man hunt of the two inmates.

Apparently, two bicycle operators are in custody on suspicions they helped the two inmates by ferrying them to another place in the city.

More reaction on this to follow.
